Dr. Youngblood Asks some important questions of interest to Tupelo residents - Chiropractor Tupelo Dr. Youngblood Asks...

How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
Is a muscle spasm a cause or an effect?
With the knee-jerk use of muscle relaxers, you'd think it was a cause. But it's an effect. Chiropractors know that bones don't move unless muscles move them. And muscles don't contract unless commanded by the nervous system. That's why your nervous system is the focus of our Tupelo chiropractic practice.

Tupelo Chiropractor | Dr. Robert Youngblood

You don't have to believe in chiropractic and natural health care for it to work.

You'll read below about why I didn't believe either. You'll even notice a relative referred me, which took courage. This is why I work to give ALL my patients the best experience possible so they will see it is in their best interest to tell others they care about that Doc Youngblood can help and if he cannot, he will tell you.

My Story

Even after my relative, Ronnie the pharmacist, referred me to a chiropractor, I thought they were minimally trained at best and quacks at worst. Thank goodness I trusted him more than I did the poorly informed beliefs I had acquired from media and others who I had considered important to me.

So when you come to me, that is the trust I will honor and respect, because I know that you too may have some skeptics or outright critics in your life too. You may be the skeptic, and that's fine. I will do my best to convince you with results you desire.

And go figure, look what I do now. Yes, someone up there has quite a sense of humor to use a pharmacist that sells drugs to recommend to a doubter to see someone in a profession that does not use drugs or surgery. And then to change that doubter's life to where he serves others who may also have doubts? Regardless of what you believe, if you are like me, you've got to see some humor and irony in that, right?

The Pain

I had problems that nothing seemed to touch or to clear up. I was suffering from shooting pains into my arm and hands with even the smallest movement. Hitting bumps on the road would intensify the shooting pains. Over the counter drugs didn't touch it. Those prescribed drugs didn't clear it up either.

I gritted my teeth and kept working and doing the best I can. Thank goodness I had someone in my life like Ronnie. He suggested I see his chiropractor. And as skeptical as I was, it was time. So I called and made an appointment. And because of that chiropractic appointment, combined with that time in my life, it changed my life.

The Pain's Name

That was the very first time I had heard of a "subluxation" which was the root cause of what was hurting me. I now know it is made up of five various parts, is different than the medical definition of subluxation, and causes a wide variety of symptoms that often go by other medical names too. Perhaps you've heard of disc bulges, neuropathy, migraines? Explore this site to see some of the things I help by correcting the vertebral subluxation complex. Maybe you'll find your mind changing for the better when you get better information.

The Removing the Pain Game

And now I enjoy changing others for the better by helping them get out of pain, become healthier, and just improve their capabilities to enjoy their life more. This is the job where most days I rate it an 8 out of 10 because it matches my unique personality and desires to learn and to use that knowledge to serve people.

"Yeah, but. . . I'm not sure.": Oh, and you don't have to "believe" in chiropractic and natural health methods for them to work. I sure didn't. It works because it is based off of sound clinical and scientific methods that have been used for over a hundred years and some methods for thousands of years.

Chiropractic Education

Of course I didn't know that on the first day I started at Palmer Chiropractic College. You may not have met me yet, but when you do, you'll realize I am analytical. When you think about it though, don't you want an analytical doctor with people skills?

And because of who I am, there is no way I can do work that I don't believe is genuinely helping people. So moving from "Doubter Youngblood" to "Dr. Youngblood" was an involved step.

That step involved finishing up the prerequisites for chiropractic college. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the MUW in Columbus. And I completed the five year chiropractic program in three and one third years while completing my time in the US Army Reserves.

More Choices = Better Responses in the Remove Your Pain Game

At one point I even took all the technique classes I could, including nights and weekends (this could have been when I started losing hair). This upset the administration and they forced a rule change because of me. However, I did this because I knew more techniques assisted me with the options I have to help my patients.

As Dr. E. Langhans used to say, "The more clubs you have to choose from (techniques), the better you can play." Obviously, I continue to learn more and more, often well above the required minimums for to keep my state license.

On a personal note...

I am getting married October 1 to a very special woman. Neither of us have been married before and I know that I am extremely lucky and blessed to have her in my life. She definitely has better people skills than me, and in so many ways she makes me a better man and a better chiropractor.

As a doctor, I also get treated or use natural health methods. While I'm not a health nut, I am more and more aware of how the decisions we make now affect the quality of our lives in the future. Which is why my practice philosophy is to help people the way they want to be helped while telling them the truth along the way. I offer a no-hassle environment filled with love and concern, but no guilt.

So if you are ready to make a decision to see how I can help you clear up the problem(s) you are having, give me a call...I look forward to seeing and hearing your concerns and finding out how my skills can serve you. Just call or send an email with the link below.
